Pilates at The Partnership Centre, specialises in Clinical and Rehabilitation Pilates as well as Fitness Pilates. Pilates is an excellent practice for many of our clients within the process of rehabilitation – especially it seems when it comes to recovery from episodes of back and neck pain. Our team has a fantastic eye for movement, spotting inaccuracies and imbalances, and then working on them with precision and patience until awareness and control are achieved.
The Partnership has a fully equipped Pilates Studio located on the first floor. Boasting Reformers, Towers, Wunda Chairs and Cadillac. We are also equipped with many smaller pieces of Pilates equipment, such as; foam rollers, weights, bands and balls.
The Physios and Pilates Teams work closely together to provide seamless input so our clients can increase their control and develop fluid integrated movement. Our own movement team can work concurrently with a client to make the connection between Pilates mat and machine work and the movement patterns of their day to day life, sports, endurance and outdoor activities.
Pilates is recognised to significantly help a wide range of conditions from back pain and aching joints to RSI and in simply transforming a body to a makeover. Slow, precise movements are combined with controlled breathing and exercises which can be targeted to specific problem areas you might have. ‘Core stability’ are words you will hear very often as Pilates works on the development of a strong and flexible body.
INTRODUCTION TO PILATES CLASSES
Introduction to Pilates Classes involve a Postural Assessment and Screening, to give you the best possible start on your Pilates journey. We will introduce you to the Pilates Principles and offer you exercises at the appropriate level and target your needs.
The Introduction to Pilates class is initially taken in the Pilates Studio at The Partnership Centre. After your Introduction to Pilates Class, you may then continue with 1:1 classes, Studio Classes or join a Group Mat Class. You can choose to take 1:1 and Group Mat Classes in The Pilates Studio or by delivery online via Zoom.
GROUP MATWORK CLASSES
Group Matwork classes may be taken in The Pilates Studio or taken live via Zoom. The classes are suitable for all levels. Classes offer a whole-body workout and each week there is a different Rehab focus. Online content and handouts are regularly used to enhance the learning experience.
1:1 / 2:1 CLASSES
1:1 / 2:1 classes are tailored to your personal needs. Whether that is Rehabilitation for an injury or condition or General Fitness enhancement. The classes may be taken in the Pilates Studio or as an online Zoom session. Classes taken in the Pilates Studio, involve Matwork exercises, alongside using the large Pilates Studio equipment, such as the Reformer, Cadillac and Wunda Chair. Clients can request exercises for doing at home and this additional content is delivered both online and via handouts. It is possible for two clients to attend together as a 2:1 class.
Your class is tailored to your specific needs just like the 1:1 classes. You will be working in a group of maximum 5 clients, on your own tailored programme. Your personalised programme of exercises is constantly monitored and adapted as progressions are made. These classes also utilise the large Pilates Studio equipment as well as Matwork exercises. Clients can request exercises for doing at home and this is delivered both online and via handouts.
